Our environment is under stress; with the world population projected to climb by more than 25% from 7.8 billion in 2020 to 9.9 billion by 2050. Of this growing population, the urban population is expected to increase to 68%, further escalating the need to develop sustainable solutions to meet resource demands. Low-lying coastal communities such as Singapore are also more vulnerable to rising sea levels due to climate change. Globally, individuals, public agencies and companies - small and large - will need to work together to develop solutions for sustainable development.
LEVEL3 is a proud community partner for the 2020 Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge. Enterprise Singapore and Innovation Partner for Impact are bringing together government agencies, industry partners and innovators to develop more innovative sustainability solutions in Singapore - for the world. This call leverages Singapore's commitment to develop new technologies or solutions for key sustainability areas such as Waste Reduction, Green Transport, Green Packaging, Renewable Energy and Resource Efficiency.
Startups, SMEs, Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes with innovative and cutting-edge ideas have the opportunity to co-develop, testbed and commercialise their innovations with 15 corporates and agencies. Selected solvers for the SOIC 2020 Industry Track may also receive co-funding of up to S$2,000,000 (*For eligible enterprises and subjected to qualifying cost) for prototype, development and adoption of their technologies.
