It is with no doubt that data is playing a transformative role in sectors such as retail, marketing and healthcare. However, sustainability requires a data transformation of its own. There is a huge gap between data and sustainability especially for larger companies that operate or manufacture in developing countries.
Today, sustainability is more than just a public image. It has proven to reduce operating cost, shortages, price shocks, minimise supply chain disruptions and improve overall efficiency. With the rapid transformation in technology, managing and analysing data may sound seamless. However, it is not a child’s play.
When it comes to data for sustainability in developing countries, gathering, automating, and comprehending data is challenging. The restricted amount of technology and education makes it a struggle to standardise processes such as tracing, tracking, auditing for supply chain and generating data integrity. For example, smallholder farmers may find it difficult to communicate with these companies due to the language barrier.
Join Yvonne Zhang, Director, Risk Advisory, Deloitte as she shares an overview of various sustainable data strategies to anticipate risk and keep ahead of the pack.
