About the Speaker: 

Keith Weed, CMO of Unilever

As Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Keith Weed is a member of the Unilever Executive and responsible for the Marketing, Communications and Sustainable Business functions.  

His responsibilities are aligned to support Unilever’s vision: to grow the business while reducing its environmental footprint and increasing positive social impact.  Keith sees sustainability as a driver of consumer-led profitable growth. He led the creation of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and has also pioneered new ways of integrating sustainability into the business.

Outside Unilever he is Chairman of Business in the Community International and a Business in the Community Board Trustee, President of the History of Advertising Trust, Global Chairman of the Positive Change Effie Award and Effie Board Director. He is also a Fellow of The Marketing Society, and as an engineering graduate, a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Amit brings 15 years of experience in Asia in go-to-market strategies and corporate development for start-ups and corporations alike. His corporate life gravitated around market development and management positions for public listed tech giants such as Progress Software Corp (NASDAQ:PRGS) and software product start-ups such as Fiorano Software Inc., mainly spearheading new business/product roll-outs in Asian geographies based out of Singapore.

A Kauffman Fellow, Amit’s start-up experience is dotted with founding award-winning new media start-ups such as ettaminA studios and actively consulting for over a dozen others across India, Australasia and US.

Amit was previously Deputy Chairman for Business Angels Network South East Asia (BANSEA) for three years between 2011 to 2014. He has been an invited mentor at Ideas Inc., Singapore Management University Innovation Center, Founders Institute Singapore, Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta and X-Media Labs.

Amit serves on the boards of Pomelo, TradeGecko, LivSpace, PaySense, Kredivo, Reddoorz, amongst others. Previous boards included Momoe (acquired by Shopclues), Travelmob (acquired by HomeAway), Zipdial (Acquired by Twitter), goVoyagin (acquired by Rakuten).
